Department is actively engaged in outreach activities to promote scientific temper among school students. Organized awareness programmes to inculcate scientific values among students. Staff and students are actively engaged in conservation of the endangered Indian Bustard, by active participation in census organized by Department of Forestry, Government of Maharashtra. Research students’ active participation in solid waste management of water hyacinth, an aquatic weed encroaching water body, Sambhaji Lake in Solapur city, and recycled with vermibiotechnology. Department has analyzed physicochemical characters of Sambhaji Lake water during and after Ganesh idol emulsions to make aware of impact of idols on water pollution of precious aquatic bodies.
